Besides being very colorful, my “Rural Landscapes” evoke a certain sense of excitement that comes with houses, crops, fences and trees. All of these individuals have a distinct job, and by working together, they show that these imaginary scenes are overflowing with life.
Even though, “Rural Landscapes” is my newest series, it comes as a prequel to my city scapes. Perhaps as a way to show life in an “early urban” environment.
A new technique was applied to these canvases: after being painted, they all went through a process of sanding. This sanding gives the canvases a worn-out, denim-like look that matches the atmosphere of this collection.
